The Royal Savage Yacht Club and Point Bay Marina invite you to the eighth annual Diamond Island Regatta on Saturday, August 15, 2020!
The race will start in the waters of Town Farm Bay near Point Bay Marina and the course options will take you around beautiful southern Lake Champlain including (of course!) Diamond Island.
This year, due to the ongoing concerns with Covid-19, there will be no shore-based activities associated with the race. We ask that you register in advance on the website and then check in at the committee boat the day of the race. The skippers meeting will be done on the water via VHF Channel 8, with announcements starting at 9:15 a.m. The starting sequence will begin at 11 a.m. Full details can be found in Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions and Courses and Marks, all available for you to view and/or download and print out. Trophies will be mailed to the winners of each class.
As always, captains are responsible for the safety of their vessels and crew. Please be mindful of precautions including social distancing, hand washing, sanitizing and masks.
The Diamond Island Regatta has been blessed by seven years of great winds and wonderful sailing, and we anticipate the race this year will not disappoint. So, for this year, we’ll all just enjoy the sailing! We hope next year to return with our trademark breakfast, dinner, awards presentation, T-shirts and party to benefit the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
